To my dismay I noticed a 6% drop in my visitor conversion rate! This caused me some signifigant concern, and it is something you should be mindful of as well.
There is no question that most people focus on their search engine ranking when measuring their success in online marketing. However, the ultimate goal really is not getting that top rank, but rather to encourage repeat visitors who make a desired action on your site. This action may be buying, subscribing, or maybe just sticking around long enough to view your work. Your job as a webmaster is to convert these users, and help them accomplish their (and your) desired tasks.
Offer your users a call to action button that will direct them appropriately - otherwise you will find users who visit, but leave shortly thereafter because they do not know what to do next. This tactic will help lower your bounce rate (the percent of users who visit and then leave without visiting any other pages) and increase your conversion rate (the percent of users you convert) into subscribers, buyers, etc.
To better my own conversion and bounce rates, I have placed a new call to action button on my homepage which reads “Get An Attorney Now.” Let’s see how it goes!
